Economic and social development of a community is done by and for people. People are the motor of their own development. The struggle for the development of Upper-Gandou is a tangible proof of the titanesque efforts of the population, internal and external, of Upper-Gandou, in order to improve the living conditions of the people of Upper-Gandou, Haiti.

It is very busy. One can find basic necessities as well as a variety of products.

In the field of school education, Upper-Grandou has a primary school that works with a number of students in classrooms that requires new teachers. Upper-Gandou a public fountain located in front of the Church of St. Francis Xavier. Water was collected through an organization called the Catholic Church CARITAS.

Health services are not very effective in Upper-Gandou. Every year, volunteers come to Upper-Gandou from the United States to provide health care. The Aid Committee for the Development of Gandou is aware of this. Therefore, it has already bought a parcel of land to build a first aid clinic.
